What is the true meaning of "lean"?
USDA requirements state that sausage need only be 55% lean nearly half fat! Isernios Sausages contain over 80% lean fresh pork and 95% lean fresh skinless chicken. Many commodity sausages follow
the minimum requirements, but at Isernios, thats just not good enough.

What if Im counting calories?
With Isernios, theres no need to avoid sausage for a calorie restricted diet (a 3-oz. serving of our Pork Sausage contains less than 200 calories and less than 101 calories for our chicken varieties).
|
Are your sausages appropriate for sodium-restricted diets?
The American Heart Association recommends consuming no more than 3,000mg of sodium per day. Isernios Sausages contain, on average, 520mg of sodium or less per serving (please see
nutritional information for Isernios Products).
|
How about cholesterol levels?
A low cholesterol diet, as defined by the American Heart Association, allows for 300mg cholesterol per day. A serving of Isernios Pork Sausages has only 75mg of cholesterol; both lamb and chicken sausages have even less.
|
Do your products contain Gluten?
All
of our products, except the British Bangers which
contain bread crumbs, are Gluten-free.
|
Low-sugar diets?
Isernios sausage varieties contain no sugars or sweeteners and our breakfast sausages are sweetened with natural honey.
|
Why doesnt Isernios use fillers?
Isernios chooses not to use fillers because they tend to act like sponges during the cooking process. They absorb fat that would normally be rendered and also retain water. This results in an excessively fat and caloric sausage. There is no place for fillers in premium, fresh sausage products and the consumer should not be paying meat prices for them.

Kosher diets?
Isernios Breakfast Chicken & Chicken Apple Sausages are not kosher certified, but contain no pork products. We use only fresh, boneless, skinless chicken and natural sheep casings in these varieties.
